Mire Lee (1988, South Korea) is a visual artist known for her raw, organic sculptures and installations. She uses materials such as silicone, steel, motors, and liquids to create moving, almost living structures. Her work evokes associations with the human body, technology, and the fragile boundary between life and death. Lee’s installations are both sensual and unsettling, exploring themes such as desire, vulnerability, and transience.

Mire Lee was a resident at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in 2018 and 2019. Recently, she exhibited at the New Museum in New York and at the Venice Biennale in 2022. In 2024, her Hyundai Commission exhibition opened in the Turbine Hall at Tate Modern in London.

Ammodo supported Mire Lee’s work through projects at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten and the Venice Biennale.
