In the group exhibition Soils, international artists, designers, farmers, and activists explore a renewed connection between people and the land they inhabit. Soil is the foundation of our existence: it is where our ancestors once lived and where future generations will build their lives. It links past, present, and future. It is the source that sustains us.
Yet, the relationship between humans and the earth is often tens, with soil depletion, overproduction, land grabbing, and labour exploitation. How can we reconnect with our environment? And how might this help us rebuild our connection with one another? These are the questions at the heart of the exhibition. Soils features works by Patricia Kaersenhout, Wapke Feenstra, Pluriversity Weavers, Hira Nabi, and Tom Nicholson, among others.
