A Lasting Truth Is Change brings together around ninety artworks from the Van Abbemuseum’s collection, alongside loans and newly commissioned works. This combination of established names and emerging artists challenges the composition of the museum’s collection: who is included, and why?

The exhibition features works from the collection by Karel Appel, Joseph Beuys, and Marlene Dumas, as well as recent acquisitions from the Positions exhibitions, including works by Quinsy Gario, Mounira Al Solh, and Mercedes Azpilicueta. Additionally, newly commissioned works by Ima-Abasi Okon, Donghwan Kam, and Theaster Gates will be exhibited, alongside new works by Christian Nyampeta and G (Georgia Lucas-Going).
