The Nexus Institute creates space for critical thinking by organising conferences, lectures, master classes and the publication essays. The Nexus magazine was founded in 1991 and the first Nexus Conference was organised in 1996. Through these activities, the Nexus Institute has managed to build an impressive network of Nobel Prize laureates, artists, film, theatre and opera directors, musicians, writers, politicians, thinkers, scientists, historians, military leaders, religious leaders, diplomats, public debate intellectuals and human rights activists.
The annual Conferences are an important part of the Nexus Institute's programme. During the Conferences, seven to eight speakers meet on the stage of the National Opera & Ballet in two round-table discussions. These speakers come from different backgrounds and enter into a conversation about maljor ife questions.
