Established in 1990, Kunstinstituut Melly is an international art institution based in Rotterdam. The presentation institution shows and investigates developments in contemporary art through temporary exhibitions, educational programmes, public events and publications. Melly focuses primarily on discovering and presenting talents and stimulating the development of contemporary artists.
The institution has a tradition of commissioning new works, installations and performances. They are known for working closely with mostly non-European artists and bringing their work to life. Artists like Yto Barrada, Qiu Zhijie, David Lamelas, Meschac Gaba, AA Bronson, and Jennifer Tee had important exhibitions at Melly.
