Internationaal Theater Amsterdam (ITA) is one of the leading institutions in Dutch performing arts. Its theatre, located in the heart of Amsterdam, is home to their international ensemble as well as many other performing artists from both the Netherlands and abroad. Together, the theatre and ensemble form a unique institution that programmes, produces, and inspires with a contemporary vision.
Ammodo supports the ambitions of Internationaal Theater Amsterdam. Since 2013, Ammodo has been involved with ITA (and its predecessors, Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam and Toneelgroep Amsterdam). It all began with Brandhaarden, a theatre festival that grew into a platform for the world’s finest theatre-makers and companies. With Ammodo’s support, the ensemble performed in the industrial setting of the Ruhrtriennale, and internationally renowned artists such as Angélica Liddell and Isabelle Huppert were brought to the Netherlands. ITA also produced ensemble productions that gained international acclaim, such as A Little Life (2018) and Age of Rage (2021).
Since 2020, Ammodo has been a production partner of ITA. Through this collaboration, several productions are made possible each year, both ITA productions and international co-productions. This ensures that ITA can continue to play its pivotal role as an excellent international theatre.
