Nina Spijkers (1988) graduated from the The Theatre Directing Study Programme at the Amsterdam Academy of Theatre and Dance. At Toneelschuur Producties in Haarlem, she created productions such as Don Carlos, Ivanov, The Taming of the Shrew, and Onder Ons. She also directed productions for Bos Theaterproducties, including Dangerous Liaisons, Coriolanus at Het Nationale Theater and Laura H. for Theater Oostpool. In the autumn of 2023, she directed De Avond is Ongemak based on the debut novel by Lucas Rijneveld. In the spring of 2024, she created Het Achtste Leven (for Brilka) at Theater Oostpool. From the 2024/2025 season, Spijkers will be a permanent in-house director at Het Nationale Theater in The Hague.
