Ammodo supports the creation of The Balancing Act, a new production by choreographer Ann Van den Broek. In this work, Van den Broek experiments with live video, sound, and light effects. Using music pedals, the performers manipulate sound, light, and visuals—searching for the right volume, the perfect sharpness, or the ideal light. Boundaries blur and intertwine. This results in a dynamic, installation-like setting at the intersection of dance and performance.

For The Balancing Act, Ann Van den Broek has meticulously studied and examined the human body. The body as a balancing scale, where everything works together, from every joint to every muscle, to avoid falling. Beyond physical balance, Van den Broek also draws inspiration from our daily pursuit of a well-balanced life.

The Balancing Act has been nominated for a Zwaan Award for the most impressive dance production by the Vereniging van Schouwburg- en Concertgebouwdirecties (VSCD), the most prestigious dance prize in the Netherlands.
