The Bonnefanten Museum presents the first solo exhibition in The Netherlands of Lebanese-Dutch artist Mounira Al Solh (1978). Her work explores political and social themes such as migration, displacement, trauma, language, and identity.

A recurring element in Al Solh’s oeuvre is the use of Middle Eastern tents made from traditional fabrics, which she embroiders together with visitors, refugees, and museum volunteers. One of these works will be on display at the Bonnefanten Museum, alongside a series of paintings, tapestries, and drawings, including new works. With this exhibition, the artist aims to pay tribute to women who have remained historically overlooked.
