The Muziekgebouw is a leading international stage in Amsterdam located on the river IJ. The Muziekgebouw stimulates the development and execution of new music by giving a stage to promising talent and established composers in contemporary music. Besides contemporary composed music, the Muziekgebouw also presents concerts in other genres, such as classical and early music, jazz, electronic music, world music or a mixture of styles. In the Netherlands, the Muziekgebouw is the only place where contemporary composed music is a core genre.
Between 2013 and 2024, the Muziekgebouw was behind twenty-four new contemporary music productions by composers such as Joey Roukens (Nederlands Kamerkoor and Amsterdam Sinfonietta), Hawar Tawfiq (Philharmonie Zuid Nederland) and Jennifer Walsche (Klangforum Wien). Besides the World Premieres, with a focus on more established creators, Ammodo also supports the Muziekgebouw Production House, which enables emerging and mid-career composers and musicians to develop new work. The first productions under this banner were performed in 2023.
