Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen is a museum for visual art and design in Rotterdam. With a total of 140,000 objects, the collection offers an overview of Dutch and international art, from the early Middle Ages to the 21st century. The museum displays a permanent collection and regularly programmes temporary contemporary art exhibitions.

In recent years, the museum organised solo exhibitions by Joep van Lieshout (1990), Cady Noland (1995), Ryan Gander (2009) and Gabriel Lester (2011), among others. In August 2019, the museum closed due to a major renovations of the museum building. In the meantime, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen will display the permanent collection at fellow institutions in Rotterdam and beyond.

In the autumn of 2021, Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen opened its doors. This is the world's first publicly accessible museum depot. Here, visitors can see the collection in its entirety without arrangement according to art historical concepts and principles. In the museum the curator's selection is central, but in the depot the works are arranged by type of material and size. This location will have an important role in the programming of the museum until its reopening.
