In the work of choreographer Arno Schuitemaker, dance, performance, visual arts and club culture merge seamlessly. His productions are rooted in contemporary life and are praised for the way they intertwine and amplify the intimate and the collective. Schuitemaker explores our fragile, conflict-ridden world through the lenses of identity, community, perception, fluidity and transformation.
Working closely with his team, he brings a distinctive, queer perspective to movement, light, music, scenography and other disciplines, including voice and video. The result is a dynamic, integrated whole in which each element enhances and enriches the others. Schuitemaker’s work received international recognition and is presented at leading festivals and venues in over 25 countries.
